New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo has delivered a message to those who took issue with him getting into a scuffle on Monday Night RAW, and that message is basically, “I don’t care.”
On Monday night at Madison Square Garden, during John Cena’s final ever appearance on RAW, Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo — who had emergency surgery on his ankle after breaking it against the Philadelphia Eagles just a dew weeks ago — got into a scuffle with Dominik Mysterio alongside podcaster Andrew Schultz.
Given Skattebo’s popularity, the moment went viral on social media, leading many NFL fans to question the intelligence of doing such a thing while recovering from major ankle surgery.

Skattebo, however, apparently couldn’t care less, as he took to social media to respond to his critics by essentially saying, “Let me live.”
“Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on. I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy. Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say 🫡,” the rookie running back posted on social media.

While Skattebo’s stance is admittedly a correct one from an intellectual point of view, it leaves out a very key aspect, both in the context of the moment and his career at large, and that’s the physical component.
Yes, him going to enjoy Monday Night RAW and even participate in the show is a totally reasonable distraction what’s likely a very tough moment in his career. But risking re-injury, however slight that chance might be, not only puts his employer in an bad position but also, and most importantly, exposes him to potentially further harming his career if an unfortunate accident were to happen.
