Despite securing a 44-32 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season, Josh Allen wasn’t pleased with his performance. The reigning NFL MVP finished 19 of 30 for 317 yards and three touchdowns. On the other hand, he was picked off twice, but added three touchdowns and 40 yards on six carries.
During a Tuesday press conference, the playmaker admitted he didn’t enjoy his performance, noting that his first half wasn’t up to his standards.

“I didn’t play too well,” Allen said, via Pro Football Talk. “I don’t think so. Obviously, in the second half we got things rolling. . . . There was just too many throws that I feel like I don’t miss. There’s really no excuse for that. It’s just going out there and, again, trusting the guys and I need to make those plays when the opportunities are there. I’m confident that we can still get things going there.”
Allen went 8 of 17 with two interceptions in the first half. He vowed to do better next time, which is a good sign for the Bills’ championship aspirations. They beat the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buccaneers in back-to-back weeks, showing that they aren’t done competing.
However, their biggest test will come in the postseason. New teams have surged in the AFC this season, namely the New England Patriots (9-2, which includes a 23-20 win over the Bills), the Denver Broncos (9-2) and the Indianapolis Colts (8-2).

At 7-3, they are still in contention, but the bar will be higher when the postseason starts. Their next challenge will come in the form of the Houston Texans on Thursday night.
Even without C.J. Stroud (concussion) available, the Texans are a dangerous team, and if the Bills don’t bring their best game, David Mills and Co. will capitalize on their mistakes.
