Rob Gronkowski makes dream prediction for Shedeur Sanders’ first NFL start

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback will officially have his first NFL start on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. After replacing fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel against the Baltimore Ravens, Sanders will start under center on Sunday.

NFL legend Rob Gronkowski joined Kay Adams’ “Up & Adams” show on Wednesday to share his thoughts on Sanders’ first start.

“He’s got a week to prepare, he has a week to get knowledge of the playbook and the plays they’re gonna run and design for him as well,” Gronkowski said. “He’s a quarterback that you gotta design plays for him. He’s got that type of talent; he can run the ball as well, ’cause he’s got that athleticism. This is the week we can judge his performance.

“I’m excited for it, the NFL fans, I’m sure Shedeur Sanders fans are excited for it, so this is gonna be good for the NFL and it’s good for the Browns right now, because they need that excitement and Shedeur is gonna bring it. That’s for sure.”

The four-time Super Bowl champion predicted that Sanders would leave Allegiant Stadium with his first career win.

“The Raiders are one of the worst teams in the NFL right now. I think he gets a win and I think he stays consistent and he remains the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns. I think it’s gonna happen.”

Sanders should have a better game against the Raiders. He went 4 of 16 for 47 yards against the Ravens. The Raiders are struggling to get things going, and even though they play at home in Week 12, Gronkowski believes the Browns will get the win.

Deion Sanders hesitated about whether he would fly to Las Vegas to watch his kid, but it would be hard to imagine that he wouldn’t attend Shedeur’s first start in the league.

After dropping all the way to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders will have the chance to start proving doubters wrong.
