Everton’s Thierno Barry takes cheeky training dig at Adam Aznou on social media

Everton duo Thierno Barry and Adam Aznou have jokingly gone back and forth with each other on social media.

Thierno Barry and Adam Aznou both arrived with great fanfare in the summer transfer window, but neither have delivered thus far.

To be fair to Aznou, he’s not even been given a single minute to show what he’s about, with David Moyes sending him to play with the under-21s at times.

Where will Everton finish this season?

Moyes doesn’t think Aznou is physically ready to play in the Premier League, so he will have to continue working behind the scenes at Finch Farm before he’s given his debut.

With that said, Barry actually tried to have a private training session with the Morocco international, but he apparently refused.

Thierno Barry jokes that Adam Aznou only wants to do extra training with Achraf Hakimi

Aznou recently posted on Instagram, and he can be seen with Paris Saint-Germain full-back Achraf Hakimi.

Aznou and Hakimi, who are Morocco teammates, were pictured training together during the international break.

Barry was quick to reply underneath the post, claiming that Aznou would never want to train with him when he asked to do extra work away from Everton.

Barry commented: “When is Hakimi u go with him but when is me I call u to train together u don’t come okay.”

Aznou replied: “Bro what language is that.”

Barry responded: “When Hakimi calls you, you go train with him, but not with me, you suck-up, you understand?”

Clearly, the Everton stars are just having a laugh and it actually shows that they’ve built a close relationship since joining from Villarreal and Bayern Munich, respectively.

Adam Aznou could leave Everton in January

The Toffees have a decision to make on Aznou over the next six weeks before the January transfer window opens.

It has been reported that Aznou wants to leave Everton, and Moyes will consider sanctioning the right loan move.

How would you rate Everton’s 2025/26 season so far?

The club feel it may be best for the teenager to play regular football elsewhere to continue his development.

La Liga outfit Getafe, who currently sit in eighth place, are said to be positioning themselves at the front of the queue.

Ideally, a move to a Premier League or top-end Championship club would be better suited to ensure he gets up to speed with the physicality and intensity of English football.

Barry, meanwhile, is expected to continue to learn his trade as perhaps the second-choice striker, with another forward set to arrive this winter.

Troy Parrott, Ivan Toney and Joshua Zirkzee have all been linked with a move to Everton.
