Oasis are to land their dream of performing at the home of their beloved football team Manchester City.

The Gallagher brothers are lined up to perform in the spring at The Etihad Stadium, which will be the return of live music shows at the venue for the first time in three years.

Insiders say that City bosses want lifelong fans Noel and Liam to be the first to kick off the updated stadium with their Live Comeback shows.

They wanted to play at the City ground but redevelopment work and construction made it impossible to fit into their 2025 schedule.

Currently discussions are taking place about how many dates the Britpop pioneers could fit in because of the expected demand. It is the thirtieth anniversary of the band's two sold-out shows at Maine Road on April 27th and 28th, 1996.

Once construction is finalised with authorities' agreements the Etihad will be able to host perhaps over 60,000 fans in the stand and on the pitch. The demands of Pep Guardiola's team means that the stadium will not be available until late May.

Currently Take That are the first act booked in for June 18 for a run of four nights

An insider said: "This is the show that the city wants and that Noel and Liam are extremely excited about. They have enjoyed such a mammoth amount of love and fan reaction this year from their return, but next year will go up a notch.

"The band had hoped to play the Etihad, but the construction made it impossible.

"Now the club has them lined up to reopen the place to stadium shows. It is quite poetic in many ways.

"They are so connected to the club and venue, the fans are connected to them and the anniversary makes it special. It also really sets a fire under their next run of shows in 2026. This will be a huge deal Just how many shows they book are still being worked on."

The act is also looking at Knebworth House as a venue for another 30th anniversary show. Oasis are scheduled to finish this year's live run on November 23 at Estádio do Morumbi in São Paulo, Brazil.
