Even though Palmer is quickly becoming a star at Stamford Bridge, the talk is still going on. The England international has scored 74 goals in his first 101 games for Chelsea. He also came in eighth place in the 2025 Ballon d’Or voting, which shows how highly regarded he is among Europe’s best players.
Musiala, on the other hand, left Chelsea’s academy to join Bayern and has since become a key player for the Bundesliga giants. In February, he signed a new contract that runs until 2030. Reports from England say that Chelsea would probably have to pay a record amount to bring him back.
Palmer has actually done better than Musiala in terms of raw attacking numbers over the last two seasons. The Chelsea playmaker scored more goals and set up more goals in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons. But Olmo’s choice shows that Musiala is known as one of the best attacking midfielders of his generation and a key player for both Bayern and the Germany national team.
Both players are having trouble with their fitness right now. Palmer has only been able to start two games this season because of an ongoing injury. Musiala hasn’t played yet because he broke his leg at the Club World Cup.

Cole Palmer is getting closer to coming back from his most recent injury, and Chelsea wants him back for their Champions League match against Barcelona at Stamford Bridge. The club and the player are both working toward the Barca match as the main goal for his return.
The 23-year-old’s problem started at the Club World Cup in the summer. This season, he has only started two games, the last of which was almost two months ago against Manchester United.
Reports say that a short appearance away at Burnley on November 22 is still possible. However, Chelsea thinks that the Barcelona game three days later is a more realistic and sensible time for him to come back.
