Liverpool had a very busy summer, spending almost half a billion on incomings.

The transfer window also saw the Reds sell a number of first team players. The major rebuild is one of the reasons behind their worrying form.

Slot has had to change his system to try and accommodate the new attackers, but they have failed to make any significant impact as yet.

The Reds are being linked with more players ahead of the January transfer window as Slot’s squad rebuild is expected to continue.

One of the players strongly linked with a move to Anfield is Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool’s interest in Antoine Semenyo

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed Liverpool’s interest in the versatile attacker, who is also a target for Arsenal as well as other Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Manchester City. Manchester United and Tottenham have also been keen on him since last summer.

Romano has also confirmed that the release clause for the player in January is £65m which will reduce to £50m in the summer.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano said:

“Liverpool are interested and keen in a potential deal or a potential deal for Antoine Semenyo.

“From what I’m hearing, Liverpool are considering this possibility. They are following the player. They have a very good relationship with Bournemouth. So let’s see what’s going to happen in the next months.

“But Liverpool are monitoring the player and so could be another club to add to the list for Semenyo from what I’m hearing.”

Liverpool leading the race to sign Semenyo

Romano’s update is a confirmation of what we have covered on the saga over the past couple of weeks.

I have already reported that theReds have been in contact with Bournemouth regarding the player since quite some time and thatLiverpool are considered favourites to sign him.

It is also said thatSemenyo would prefer a move to Liverpool over rivals including his boyhood club Arsenal.

If the Reds can secure his signature, it would be considered a massive boost for Slot, specially given the struggles upfront this season.

He would provide an immediate solution to Mo Salah’s AFCON absence and also provide much needed depth on the left-side of the attack which has looked toothless this season.
