Patrick Mahomes' Dad Shares Strong Prediction Amid Chiefs Struggles

The Kansas City Chiefs come into their Week 12 game against the Indianapolis Colts desperately needing a win to stay in the mix in the AFC playoff picture. Despite some of the red flags that have surrounded this Chiefs team all season, Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, remains quite confident that his son’s team will be a playoff team.

Kansas City’s loss in Week 11 to the Denver Broncos was certainly a devastating one. The path for the Chiefs to win the AFC West seems to now be contingent on the Broncos melting down over the next seven weeks, as they currently sit 3.5 games behind their bitter rival.

Additionally, Kansas City remains on the outside looking in on the AFC Wild Card race after the Jaguars’ Week 11 victory. This obviously puts plenty of pressure on the Chiefs to take care of business in Week 12 against a Colts team that has been among the best in the conference thus far.

Naturally, some Chiefs fans have started to get incredibly worried about the team’s postseason chances. Despite this, Patrick Mahomes Sr. still seems to believe that the fanbase has nothing to worry about regarding the team’s chances of reaching the postseason.

Following the Chiefs’ loss to Denver, a Chiefs fan and content creator, Shane Williams, posted a detailed critique of the team on Facebook. In the post, Williams predicted that some of the shortcomings of the team, including the lack of a running game, would result in the Chiefs missing the postseason.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. took notice of this, commenting on the post that he would “take any bet” from any fellow Facebook commenter that the Chiefs would end up making the playoffs.

“I'll take any bet that anyone wants to make that we make the playoffs,” wrote Mahomes Sr. “So just DM and let me know.”

On one hand, the Chiefs have a lengthy track record of success that indicates they may very well respond well to their backs being up against the wall. On the other hand, Kansas City hasn’t exactly proven they can compete against the elite teams in the league, with just one win over a team with a record over .500 on the year.

Sunday’s game against the Colts will be another opportunity to prove just that. So expect the Chiefs to at the very least come out and play with the most passion they have all season long with their postseason hopes potentially on the line in the matchup.
