The Carolina [Panthers](https://catcrave.com/) have been quite an enigma thus far in 2025.
At 6-5, quarterback Bryce Young and Co. have been capable of knocking off the Super Bowl-contending Green Bay Packers one week, only to lose to the lowly New Orleans Saints the next, making San Francisco 49ers fans wonder what iteration they'll see when the Niners host Carolina for _Monday Night Football_ in Week 12.
If there's one guarantee for the primetime affair, it's the fact both teams' pass rushes will be difficult to watch.
49ers vs. Panthers will feature horrid pass rushes
--------------------------------------------------
Despite massive offseason additions to its defensive line, San Francisco officially boasts the worst pass rush in the league this deep into the season, owning a mere 12 sacks, which is fewer than the 31 other remaining teams above that figure.
Granted, the 49ers have been hindered by [season-ending losses](https://ninernoise.com/latest-injury-news-confirms-worst-case-scenario-49ers-upstart-rookie) to key pass-rushers like Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams, while veteran edge Bryce Huff has been hobbled by hamstring issues.
Still, it's the lowest of lowly numbers.
Yet the Panthers haven't exactly fared much better, notching 13 sacks over the same number of games with defensive tackle Derrick Brown leading head coach Dave Canales' defense with three quarterback takedowns.
True, sacks aren't everything, and some may argue it's an overrated stat. But, if that's the case, neither the Niners nor Panthers are exactly winning in the pressure department either. San Francisco is also dead last in the league in pressure percentage at 13.1, while Carolina (again) is one spot above with a pressure rate of only 15.6 percent.
If there's some modest solace for the 49ers heading into Monday night's showdown, it's the fact Young has taken 19 sacks on the season, right in the middle of the pack, suggesting it's possible for coordinator Robert Saleh's unit to tally on one or two more sacks over the course of the affair.
Given the state of the Niners pass rush to date, though, it might be wishful thinking when the two teams square off on _Monday Night Football_ on Nov. 24 at 8:15 p.m. ET.
