The Golden State Warriors are set to close out a back-to-back set on Wednesday night against the Miami Heat. Following a loss against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, the Warriors added a handful of key players to the injury report.
Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green were among several players to see their statuses change after they took the floor to face the Magic on Tuesday night.
Butler was listed as questionable due to a lower back strain. Draymond Green is battling an illness, which dropped his status to questionable for the night.
Will Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler Face the Heat?
Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green were officially ruled out for the Warriors, according to the official NBA injury report.
On Tuesday night in Orlando, Butler had a 38-minute showing. During that time, he made 10-16 shots from the field to score 33 points. He came down with seven rebounds and dished out four assists. Defensively, Butler came up with three steals.
This season, Butler has 15 appearances during his first full run with the Warriors. He is knocking down 53 percent of his shots from the field and producing 20.1 points per game. In addition, Butler is coming down with 5.5 rebounds per game, and producing 4.7 assists.
As for Green, he checked in for 31 minutes on Tuesday. Making 5-8 shots from the field, Green produced 12 points to go along with six assists, six rebounds, and two blocks. In 15 games this year, Green has averaged 7.9 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.8 rebounds.
The Warriors planned to battle it out in Miami without Steph Curry, Al Horford, Jonathan Kuminga, and De'Anthony Melton, as they were all ruled out as early as Wednesday afternoon. Buddy Hield was another questionable player on the report early on.
After a 9-7 start to the season, the Warriors are looking to avoid falling into a losing streak. After their sixth-straight road game, Golden State will get a one-day break before heading home to face the Portland Trail Blazers for NBA Cup action on Friday night.
