Another Vikings O-Lineman in Danger of Missing Time

After a letdown against the Chicago Bears, the Minnesota Vikings are basically staring at a make or break week for their 2025 NFL season. Coincidentally Kevin O’Connell’s team is facing off against top division rival, Green Bay.

The first injury report of the week may wind up being the healthiest the team has been all year. If there’s a time to get right, I suppose it’s when the season is on the line. There is a wrinkle though, and of course it comes on the offensive line.

Will Fries joins the MN Vikings injured ranks

The Minnesota Vikings spent a considerable amount of money on the offensive line this offseason. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah intended to build in the trenches. That plan hasn’t resulted in a single complete game from the group yet, and it may be in jeopardy again for Week 12.

It’s extremely positive that starting center Ryan Kelly is back in action. As a full participant he is on track to return in a starting capacity on Sunday. That would displace Blake Brandel from the role he has taken over, but he could be forced into action at guard.

Will Fries was among the multiple veteran free agents the Vikings signed this offseason. He has started all ten games this year after being healthy for just five last season. Dealing with a knee issue, Fries would force Brandel back into guard action if he can’t play against the Packers.

The Minnesota Vikings were also without Jonathan Greenard last week against the Bears. It was the first game he has missed in two seasons with Minnesota, but he wasn’t practicing on Wednesday either.

Green Bay is currently second in the NFC North at 6-3-1. If the Vikings are able to knock them off, it would go a long way towards saving their season.
