The Kansas City Chiefs are in a position they are not used to, as they are on the outside of the playoff picture and at risk of missing the playoffs entirely. The team needs to win games quickly, and they are getting one of their top playmakers returning to the practice field. Let’s take a deeper dive into the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice report and discuss who is back on the field for the first time in weeks.

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters on Wednesday that running back Isiah Pacheco will be returning to practice today. Pacheco has been a solid piece to the team’s offense as he has posted 78 rushing attempts for 329 yards (4.2 yards per carry) with a rushing touchdown as well as 11 catches for 43 yards (3.9 yards per reception) with a receiving touchdown. He has not played since their Monday night game against the Washington Commanders in Week 8 due to a knee ligament sprain.
He was considered to be week-to-week with the knee ligament sprain, but has not been able to get on the field after playing in the first eight games. At the time of the injury, Pacheco was leading the Chiefs with rushing yards and is expected to be a force if the team is going to be able to get back into the playoff picture. Kansas City ranks 16th in the sport with 115.3 rushing yards per game this season and has another playmaker in the backfield.
It will be interesting to see if he is healthy enough to play on Sunday at home against the Indianapolis Colts. The team has not been able to get a 30-yard rushing attempt thus far, so they are not able to run the ball and get many major plays.
