The Buffalo Bills entered 2025 expecting Keon Coleman to blossom into Josh Allen’s go-to weapon. That breakout hasn’t happened. Instead, the second-year receiver found himself as a healthy scratch in Week 11 against Tampa Bay.
Now it looks like he’ll be watching from the sidelines again Thursday night when Buffalo faces Houston.

When asked about Coleman’s availability for the Texans matchup, head coach Sean McDermott kept things vague with a simple “we’ll see.” That response came after disciplinary action stemmed from Coleman showing up late to a team meeting for the second time this season.
McDermott didn’t hesitate to bench him, and the young wideout is learning the hard way that punctuality matters in professional football.

“Coleman is expected to sit tomorrow against the Texans, according to Erik Turner of Cover 1, who first reported that Coleman would be a healthy scratch for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers,” Pro Football Talk shared on X.
Missing two consecutive games as a healthy scratch stings for any player. Coleman has appeared in nine NFL games this year, hauling in 32 catches for 330 yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers aren’t terrible, but consistency has been his biggest obstacle.

What makes Buffalo’s decision even more eyebrow-raising is the fact that injuries have already thinned out their receiving corps.
The Bills are clearly sending a message. Coleman’s immediate future remains cloudy, but one thing is certain: McDermott isn’t backing down from his stance anytime soon.
