Cleveland Browns Early Extension Candidates

Here are the starters within the list, so we will touch on each of these:

David Njoku - I still believe they will keep David Njoku around, where he has struggled for spelling this season I think they will wait nearer March to get a deal done.

Cam Robinson - I could see him kept around if he improves but it wouldn't make sense as an early extension in December.

Jack Conklin - It hasn't been good this year which is a real shame after years when injuries were his only issue and the play was high quality when he was healthy.

Joel Bitonio - If he wants to come back then it will be easy for the Cleveland Browns to do a one year extension, I don't see him deciding this until around February or March time. If he decides to retire then it will be a one year extension at a veteran minimum deal and a formal retirement after June 1st.

Wyatt Teller - In the growing trend across the offensive line, he has underwhelmed for two years, so an early extension would be suboptimal.

Ethan Pocic - I could see him signing a four year qualifying contract, to do this he will need to wait until free agency starts.

Alex Wright - The recent injury might slow this down. I don't see them breaking the bank for him as he struggles to get pressure on the quarterback and the recent injury just slows this down. I will write on the expected cost later this season.

Devin Bush - He is certainly deserving of an extension, the issue is, you only want to pay him if Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah isn't returning else Bush should be signing somewhere else as a starting linebacker. This makes an early extension unlikely unless the chances of a JOK return are next to zero.

Corey Bojorquez - This is the most likely extension for me. I felt it should have been done before week one so agreeing a deal and rewarding a constant high performer is wise for the organisation.
