Yaya Toure says he’s been‘really impressed’by‘brilliant’Chelsea player this season

Chelsea will return to Premier League action on Saturday sitting third in the table, despite the fact that injuries have heavily impacted their season so far.

The Blues will take on Burnley, before a top of the table clash against Arsenal next weekend. Cole Palmer will not be available for the trip to Turf Moor.

How will Chelsea get on against Burnley?

The England international has been absent alongside Levi Colwill, Romeo Lavia and Liam Delap, meaning Enzo Maresca has had to rely on other members of the first team squad to step up.

One player who has continued to do this is Moises Caicedo, with the midfielder taking his game to another level during the 2025/26 campaign.

Yaya Toure left ‘really impressed’ by Moises Caicedo

The Ecuadorian has added goals to his game on a far more regular basis, Caicedo is arguably the most complete player in the league right now.

One figure he has clearly impressed is Yaya Toure, another player recognised as one of the best to feature in his position in the Premier League.

The Former Manchester City man has named Caicedo as one of the players he has been watching closest this season, praising his all-round game.

He said: “Another one again I’ve been really impressed with is Caicedo. Liverpool vs Chelsea, incredible goal, the area he covers, his movement, his passing, he’s got all of that and I think he’s a brilliant player.”

Chelsea fans not happy at Caicedo treatment

Maresca has made it no secret that his midfielder is not at 100% fitness following the Club World Cup, and excessive amount of minutes he has played in the early stages of the campaign.

Chelsea fans were not happy to see Caicedo feature for 180 minutes during the international break for Ecuador, as well as make the trip to South America to represent his country.

There is an argument that Caicedo should be rested against Burnley, with the magnitude of the games to come afterwards.

The Blues have a crucial game against Barcelona in the Champions League before hosting Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, a game which could see them make a real statement as genuine title contenders.
