FC Barcelona have always had a strong track record of developing young talent from their famed La Masia academy. The same cannot be said of their success rate when signing talents from abroad.
Despite the club’s best intentions in bringing in players from elsewhere and developing them for the first team, more often than not, they end up like Vitor Roque, who was not ready for the move to Barcelona when he made it.
According to Fichajes, sporting director Deco has opened direct talks to sign 19-year-old Brazilian gem Rayan from Vasco da Gama. The teenager has impressed with his breakout performances, generating significant interest.

Rayan is attracting attention not only from the Catalan club but also from teams in Italy and England. Barcelona believe the teenager would fit perfectly into their sporting and economic framework and expect him to cost around €25m.
A left-footed winger who prefers operating from the right, Rayan can also play on the left or through the middle. In his natural position, however, Barcelona already have someone younger than him who is among the very best in the world.
The presence of Lamine Yamal could make Rayan think twice before making the switch to the Catalan club. Roony Bardghji is also available to provide quality backup, and the player might be better off moving elsewhere, where minutes look more guaranteed.
