beIN Media Group has renewed its long-running broadcast partnership with the NBA, keeping the North American basketball league on beIN Sports across the Middle East and North Africa.

The new deal, announced in Doha, continues a relationship that dates back to 2008 and will see beIN Sports show up to 9 regular-season games a week in Arabic, English and French. The package also covers the NBA Playoffs, Conference Finals and the NBA Finals, carried on beIN’s linear sports channels and its OTT platform TOD.

Mohammad Al-Subaie, CEO of beIN MENA, said the NBA partnership is “one of the longest and most valued” in the group’s portfolio and underlined beIN’s ambition to be a global home of sport with multilingual, multi-platform coverage.

Matt Brabants, NBA senior vice-president and head of international content partnerships, said the extension would maintain “unprecedented access” for fans in the region through live games, highlights and original programming in three languages.

The group recently extended its NBA rights in France, where it has held the portfolio since 2012. With the latest renewals, beIN remains an official NBA broadcaster in 23 countries.
