Antoine Semenyo is certainly the talk of the town right now, with a move seeming inevitable.
The Reds went big in the transfer market over the summer, but as of yet, it has not quite paid off.
They still left a few gaps that needed filling, though, with a winger being one of them, which is why they are so heavily linked to Semenyo.

The Bournemouth star has been on fire this season, with there being strong rumours that he could depart as early as January, with Liverpool one of the teams most keen.
However, there is a chance they wait until the summer to make a move, with his price tag a little bit less if they do.

Antoine Semenyo would cost less in the summer
Semenyo has a release clause in his contract for the winter that means clubs would have to pay £65m to prise him away.
Although this is still a fair amount, it is also quite cheap in today’s market for a player of his quality, suggesting it is a bit of a no-brainer.
However, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that if Liverpool wait until the summer to get him, he would cost a fair bit less, with there being a chance they decide to wait it out for this reason.

“The value is different, for January it is £60m plus £5m in add-ons. For the summer transfer window it is slightly above £50m,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“Bournemouth would like to keep the player. They would love to keep Antoine Semenyo and keep him until the summer.

Is Antoine Semenyo Liverpool-bound in 2026?
“Anfield was scary. I scored, I did a back-flip at the Kop end. I’m thinking ‘I’ve got them rattled.’ They’re clapping, celebrating, pushing the team on even more. I’m thinking ‘oh my god.’”

“But if a club arrives and triggers the clause or a club arrives and tries to negotiate, it can be different in that case Bournemouth will have to let the player go in the January transfer window.”
Liverpool will face competition for Antoine Semenyo
The big risk with Liverpool waiting is that they will not be the only club considering a move, so there is a good chance they miss out on him altogether.
Granted, he would be cheaper, but as seen with the Marc Guehi saga, trying to save a little bit of money can backfire, and for the sake of around £15m, it might not be worth the risk.
Arsenal are one of the teams also interested, and with Semenyo a boyhood Arsenal fan, this might be a little worrying.
Whether they make the move in January is not yet known, but if they really want the 25-year-old, then they might have to go early.
