Jalen Hurts confirmed what every Eagles fan knew he would say regarding reports

After days of others speaking on his defense, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts finally stepped up to the podium to address the reports about him.

Eagles reporter Derrick Gunn shared that sources within the organization told him players were frustrated with Hurts for his on-field play. Hurts told the media that he is focused on doing his job.

"I just go to work every day. Go to work everyday, and continue to try and do my best."

A follow-up question was asked about whether this is all part of the job of being the one to take criticism. Hurts agreed with that assessment and knows he has to handle it a certain way.

"I think it definitely does. I get a lot of attention when things are going well, and when they're not going so well. I never run away from holding myself accountable.. I take great pride in what we do on offense, and how we play as a team.. We obviously got work to do, and that starts with me. That's always my approach, looking internally first in everything that we do. And in time, rising above."

Another reporter asked whether any of these frustrations had ever been brought to his attention personally. Hurts took the high road and wants to keep things behind closed doors.

"I don't wanna get into that, but no they haven't though. Y'all [media] bring it to me."

Hurts handled it the right way like usual

Hurts has struggled over the last two games for the Eagles, totaling just two touchdowns and completing under 60% of his passes in each. Week 11's 16-9 win over the Lions might have been his roughest this season, as he only completed 50% of his passes.

Overall, this season, though, Hurts is putting up excellent numbers, completing 66.9% of his passes for 1,995 yards and 16 touchdowns to one interception. He's added another 265 yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

Hurts has always been his own harshest critic and knows he has to improve his play. His teammates don't have to tell him that. He can handle all the pressure, though, as he has dealt with it throughout his career in Philadelphia.

Things do need to improve, though, for an offense that has struggled to move the ball as they are bottom 10 in passing and total offense. Hurts is the key to make it all happen and turn this Eagles offense around.
