Eagles Legend Has Concerning Take on AJ Brown, Jalen Hurts

The AJ Brown-Jalen Hurts saga doesn't seem to be going away, despite the Philadelphia Eagles' red-hot start to the 2025 NFL season.

From the outside looking in, it seems like there is drama brewing between the star QB-WR duo-and it seems like it's been brewing for a long time. Neither Hurts nor Brown has opened up on the situation enough to quiet down the rumors. As a result, the speculation that's been flying keeps the topic a hot one.

Recently, the Eagles' legendary wide receiver DeSean Jackson opened up on the situation from his perspective.

"It's something else going on. I got a great relationship with him," Jackson said of Brown on his podcast this week.

"I respect him. I can't say it, but I know it's something else going on. It's not all about football. It's not all about Xs and Os. I've had Situationships with quarterbacks I didn't necessarily like. And when it ain't there, it sticks out like a sore thumb. That's all I'm gonna say."

Jackson doesn't do the Eagles any favors with his comments, but the wide receiver has never been one to hold back. Since his comments hold weight in Philadelphia, where he carved out an eight-year run, with two different stints, Jackson will leave the Philadelphia fan base even more curious than before.

Will it change anything beyond the speculation going on outside of the Novacare Complex? That's unlikely. Clearly, Hurts and Brown have been unwilling to lay out their issues for all to see. And since it hasn't affected the state of the team (the Eagles lead the NFC with an 8-2 record), the team is operating business as usual, as their current formula has proven to win games.

Following two low-scoring slugfests with the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions, the Philadelphia Eagles are looking to get their offense on track against their NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys, on the road. Last week, there was clearly an effort to get the admittedly hungry AJ Brown more involved, as he received a team-leading 11 targets. This weekend, the Eagles will get another opportunity to fine-tune the offense and maintain their top spot in the conference.
