For many of Chelsea’s biggest legends, the culmination of their fantastic careers occurred by winning the 2012 Champions League final.
John Terry, Petr Cech, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba all had their crowning moments in Munich, signalling the beginning of the end for a great era at Stamford Bridge.
Bayern Munich captain Phillip Lahm admitted he was broken after the Champions League final, after his side were seen as the heavy favourites to win the game.
Chelsea fans may not have noticed that Cech was not present in a lot of the post-match celebrations following the penalty shootout victory, with him being called into another room to conduct a drugs test.

John Terry calls for UEFA rule change after Petr Cech incident
The same occurred with Aston Villa’s John McGinn after Scotland dramatically qualified for the World Cup, and Terry has called for there to be a change of the rules to allow these players to enjoy their achievements.
He said: “Anyone who watched the Scotland game last night saw the emotion with John McGinn and his interview after the game. He’s posted on social media this morning, unfortunately he got drug tested after the game. You get tested in a separate room away from the celebrations.
“You miss out on the celebrations, all the photos. It happened to Petr Cech in 2012 in Munich. We win the Champions League, best and biggest night in history, but there are no pictures of Big Pete because he was in a different room.
“I think it’s something UEFA and FIFA need to look at. These special moments you cherish, you wait for and you live for.”

Terry’s huge praise for Cech
The Chelsea duo were both regulars in the side who conceded just 15 goals in a single Premier League season, a defensive record Terry and Cech don’t think Arsenal will beat this season.
The former Blues captain was clearly a big fan of the goalkeeper behind him, and even recently has praised his former teammate.
Terry believes Cech could still feature in the Premier League at his current age, despite his professional career coming to an end in 2019.
