Making the breakthrough as an academy goalkeeper is an incredibly difficult challenge but Khari Ranson has always been a determined individual while progressing through the ranks at Arsenal.
There have been some challenging moments at times given the significant competition for a starting berth at youth level but Ranson has received several opportunities to impress of late.
Earlier this season the 18-year-old was the third-choice goalkeeper for the first-team against West Ham, which was also the case against Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup last year.
So far this campaign Ranson has featured for Arsenal at U21, U19 and U18 levels.
He has also continued to make progress for England and has kept three clean sheets in as many appearances for the Three Lions at U19 level.
With Jack Porter set to be back available for Arsenal at youth level following England’s elimination from the U17 World Cup, competition for places will soon intensify.
Ranson, though, will be determined to take any chance that he is afforded as he looks to continue progressing towards senior football.
The shot-stopper has been at Arsenal since 2017 and now has a professional contract with the club.
He will hope that the remainder of the season will bring further opportunities to show what he is capable of.
