Antoine Semenyo is heavily linked with a move to Liverpool right now.
The Reds are not satisfied with how they have started the season, and rightly so too, as they find themselves eight points behind league-leaders Arsenal.
Changes need to be made, and one of the things they are looking to do is dip into the transfer market in January and add more quality to the team.

Semenyo is the player who they seem the most keen on, with his £65m release clause being only something that will tempt them even more.
However, they must do something brave in the race for the Ghanaian, even if there is a big chance it backfires.

Liverpool should wait for Antoine Semenyo and buy a defender
Liverpool have had many problems at the start of the season, although the most obvious is probably in defence.
They have been leaking far too many goals, and with there being a lack of options in this department too, it might be best if they sign a defender first.
Semenyo will be even cheaper in the summer, with Fabrizio Romano claiming around £50m, giving them an extra incentive to wait.

The problem is, competition for the winger is strong and they might end up losing out on him altogether, with a team like Arsenal also thinking about a January move.

Is Antoine Semenyo Liverpool-bound in 2026?
“Anfield was scary. I scored, I did a back-flip at the Kop end. I’m thinking ‘I’ve got them rattled.’ They’re clapping, celebrating, pushing the team on even more. I’m thinking ‘oh my god.’”

However, unless they can afford both, signing a defender seems the more sensible option as this is a bigger issue right now than the left wing position is.
Liverpool need to try and get Marc Guehi
Marc Guehi is the obvious choice to bring in this January, with the Englishman so close to joining in the summer anyway.
Prising him away from Crystal Palace might be tricky, though, given that he wants consistency during this World Cup year, while he also has the chance to win some European silverware with them for the first time.
Guehi will also get a much higher salary should he depart on a free, suggesting he might wait it out anyway.
However, Liverpool must at least try, mainly as it seems highly unlikely he would pick them over the likes of Real Madrid in the summer.
