Florentino Perez outlines Real Madrid’s digital strategy and future with Apple

In an interview with GQ España, Florentino Pérez explained Real Madrid’s growing partnership with Apple and how technology will shape the club’s next decade. Pérez said his long-held view of the internet’s role in Madrid’s global reach has not changed: “Many years ago I said the internet was invented for Real Madrid. That vision is still completely valid.”

Pérez described the project informally known as the “Infinite Bernabéu,” which involves creating digital products that allow supporters to experience the stadium from anywhere in the world. The club and Apple are developing immersive broadcast tools and advanced audiovisual systems to make Real Madrid content accessible through new devices.

According to Pérez, Apple’s hardware ecosystem — including Vision Pro and future mixed-reality platforms — will play a major role. The goal is to allow fans to have “the sensation of being inside the Bernabéu during a live match” regardless of location. The club is preparing match feeds and visual layers that could be adapted for VR/AR environments.

Pérez clarified that financial upside is not the primary driver: “The economic impact is important, but it cannot be our short-term obsession. What matters is offering the experience that our one billion fans want to live.”

The interview makes clear that Real Madrid’s long-term plan is not limited to stadium redevelopment. The strategy centers on controlling premium audiovisual content, distributing it globally, and leveraging emerging platforms, including spatial-computing devices, to keep Real Madrid ahead of competitors in how football is consumed.
