The Buffalo Bills will have to navigate their second-straight game without one of their best pass-catchers, tight end Dalton Kincaid.
Kincaid sustained a hamstring injury in Week 10 that has kept him out of practice and off the playing field for each of the last two weeks. Kincaid was ruled out by the Bills for Week 12 on Wednesday.
It's a shame for Kincaid, who is in the midst of a career year. It's even worse for the Bills, who are already short-handed on reliable options in the passing game and can ill-afford to be without arguably their best weapon through the air.
The Bills will be hoping to get Kincaid back in Week 13, but will that actually happen? Here's what we know.
When is Dalton Kincaid coming back?
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Kincaid is dealing with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, which is a multi-week injury.
Head coach Sean McDermott has labeled Kincaid as "week to week."
Based on all that and the fact that Kincaid has not practiced once since suffering the injury, there is zero guarantee that the budding star tight end is going to return in Week 13.
If you're looking for some optimism, Kincaid will have extra time to get himself right before the Bills have to make a decision on him for Week 13.
That's because Buffalo will enjoy a mini-bye following their Thursday night contest against the Houston Texans.
We will likely get our next update on Kincaid on Monday when the Bills return from their mini-bye, but if not the next update will likely come next Wednesday, when Buffalo turns in its first injury report of the week.
