Some athletes are known for turning up their play during specific times of year. For instance, Reggie Jackson is known as Mr. October for his heroics during the New York Yankees’ World Series run, turning up his game to a new level when it mattered most.

Many football players thrive in the fourth quarter or the playoffs as well, making a name for themselves in big-time moments. Jordan Love hasn’t necessarily established himself as a playoff threat to this point, as he hasn’t been able to take the Green Bay Packers to the Super Bowl, but he is known around the league as someone who turns things up from late November to late December. He mentioned this in a recent interview shared by reporter Matt Schneidman on X, saying, “It’s time. It’s Toyotathon time, for sure.”

As Love mentioned, fans have noticed an upward trend in Love’s game over the past few years, pointing out the correlation between Toyota’s annual sale and his statistical performances. This is almost certainly a coincidence, but Toyota and Love are leaning into it this year, going so far as to make trading cards with a “Toyotathon” sweater woven into them.

Whether it’s Toyota, Ford, Honda, or another car brand, Packers fans will take whatever they can get from their quarterback over the next several weeks. He has a tough stretch of games ahead of him, which includes three divisional matchups and a battle with the Denver Broncos, so he’ll need to turn it up similarly, if not more, than he has in years past.
