The Green Bay Packers are gearing up for one of their most critical matchups to date, at least during the 2025 season. They’re facing the Minnesota Vikings in a must-win divisional battle, as they are one game out of first place in the NFC North.

On paper, this should be a relatively easy matchup, as the Vikings are 4-6 and are a 6.5 or 7-point underdog to the Packers heading into this one. However, divisional games are never easy, especially in the NFC North, and the Packers seem to be at a disadvantage in the injury department.

Analyst Rob Demovsky highlighted this on X when looking at the Packers’ injury report, noting that nearly 32% of the roster is on the report.

Many players were limited participants, which means they practiced in some capacity, but other players didn’t suit up at all. The ‘DNP’ players were Savion Williams, Quay Walker, Karl Brooks, Nate Hobbs, and Josh Jacobs.

All five of these players are crucial pieces on this roster, and any one of their absences on Sunday could be detrimental to the Packers’ chances of winning this game. Jacobs has been efficient in the run game, but with his injury against the New York Giants in mind, his chances of playing are slim to none, at least against the Vikings.

Emanuel Wilson will have to take on Jacobs’ rushing load if he sits out, so it will be interesting to see how he responds to the heightened opportunity. Williams’ injury is also concerning, given how thin the Packers already were at receiver, but a lot can happen in the few days leading up to them suiting up for this matchup.
