Wrexham's Issa Kabore will return to parent club Manchester City to undergo a rehabilitation after sustaining a hamstring injury.

The right wing-back has been a pivotal figure under Phil Parkinson since joining the Championship side on a season-long loan deal from Pep Guardiola's outfit on transfer deadline day.

But the Burkina Faso international is set to be sidelined for at least six weeks - with Parkinson stating the 24-year-old will be "touch and go" for the Africa Cup of Nations, which gets under way in Morocco on 19 December.

"It looks like six weeks minimum. He'll do a lot of his rehab at Man City, he lives close to the training ground so that makes sense," Parkinson told BBC Sport Wales.

"He'll keep popping back to see us and we'll keep communicating with him.

"He's got the Africa Cup of Nations, but it looks like he's probably going to be touch and go for that."

Striker Kieffer Moore and left wing-back Liberato Cacace withdrew from the Wales and New Zealand squads respectively for the recent international break.

However, Parkinson says both Moore and Cacace are on the road to recovery - with both being monitored ahead of Saturday's trip to Ipswich Town (15:00 GMT).

"They're progressing. With Kieffer, he was frustrated to miss the internationals, the same as Libby, although they weren't qualifiers," added Parkinson.

"The good news for Kieffer is that Wales have done well and got themselves in a strong position for the play-off games.

"They're both progressing well and we'll keep monitoring them on a daily basis."

Elsewhere, Harry Ashfield has recovered from an ankle injury, although Ollie Rathbone has been dealt a minor blow in his quest for full fitness.

"Harry played for the reserves on Tuesday and did well. He scored a penalty," said Parkinson.

"Ollie, unfortunately, his thigh tightened up prior to the reserve game and we had to pull him out.

"He's just in one of those periods where you end up in a cycle of getting yourself to a certain position and something curtails him again.

"This is only a minor setback for him. He'll probably miss this weekend, but probably be close for the next two home games."
