Pickle in the Land nabs major multi-year sponsorship deal

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Akron Children’s will be the new sponsor of Pickle in the Land.

The partnership is a multiyear agreement with the hospital, officials said.

The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, Rock Entertainment Group and Topnotch Events host the tournament, which is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 11, to Sunday, Dec. 14, at Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.

Bill Fagan, president of business operations for Rock Entertainment Group, Cleveland Cavaliers and Rocket Arena, cited Pickle in the Land’s “record growth and expanding reach.”

Pickle in the Land began in 2023 with players from 20 states. Last year it drew more than 700 players. The 2025 tournament will include an additional day, introduce the inaugural Pickle in the Land Club Cup and feature a free autograph signing with Cavaliers legends on the weekend. A reimagined vendor village is in the works.

Also, $5 from every event registration will be donated directly to Akron Children’s Foundation to expand the hospital’s capabilities in health care, research and education.

Tournament registration is $95 and open until Thursday, Dec. 4, for players of all ages and abilities. Details on registration and tickets are available at PickleInTheLand.com.
