The Cleveland Browns have had a revolving door at the quarterback position for about as long as anyone can remember, and this season has been no different. The Browns started the season with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco as the starter, but after the offense looked completely inept, he was replaced by rookie Dillon Gabriel and traded to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Things didn’t improve much under Gabriel, but head coach Kevin Stefanksi was steadfast in his support of the young arm, much to the chagrin of the fanbase, the majority of which wanted to see the Browns’ other rookie, Shedeur Sanders, take the field.
Sanders was forced into action last week against the Baltimore Ravens after Gabriel left the game with a concussion. Sanders, much like Cleveland’s other two quarterbacks this season, struggled immensely.
Now, Sanders is preparing to make his first start, as Gabriel remains in concussion protocol. Shockingly, Sanders does not care about Gabriel’s status when it comes to sending a message to his teammate.
Talk about kicking a dog while it’s down. Sanders announced loud and clear that he feels that he is the right guy to lead the team, a bold statement considering Gabriel can’t even take the field to show what he’s got at the moment.

Fans reacted to Sanders’ words on social media.
“I hope so . I really do. I root for all Browns players, but the kid seems like he has something special. I hope these coaches can help him figure it out. Why not Cleveland, why can’t we finally get lucky and strike gold with a player like Shedeur,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Tom Brady became the Greatest QB to ever play after coming in after Bledsoe got hurt, please acknowledge that this is a star,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Sanders can back up all the big talk.
