Patrick Beverly’s lawyers have released a statement denying the allegations that the former NBA star and current Barstool Sports podcaster assaulted his 15-year-old sister.
Over the weekend, news broke that 37-year-old Patrick Beverley was arrested for allegedly attacking a family member during a domestic dispute.
Later in the week, it was revealed that Beverley was arrested for allegedly assaulting his teenage sister after she admitted to sneaking out to meet with an older boyfriend.
According to the police report, Beverley allegedly “grabbed her by her neck with both hands, and picked her up off the ground, by having her feet come up from the floor.”
“Beverley’s sister told officials she left the home in the middle of the night without permission to see her boyfriend, Aiden Hilderbrand, at a nearby park on Nov. 14. When she returned home, her mother, Lisa, was awake … and told her to enter her room. Lisa then told her daughter to call Hilderbrand and tell him to pick her up.” [via TMZ ]
“His sister claims his grasp on her neck made her feel pain and as if she was losing oxygen and unable to breathe … which lasted between 20 and 30 seconds.”
Furthermore, Beverley’s sister claims he “stood on top of her and punched her approximately one time on her left eye with a closed fist” and said that “he will be the family relative to kill her.”

A statement from his lawyer, however, claims that Beverley was “not violent that night.”
“Patrick is not a violent man and was not violent that night. In fact, he was very respectful with the authorities that night and encouraged others to do the same. He has always looked out for their wellbeing and will continue to do so,” Beverley’s lawyer Letitia Quinones-Hollins told TMZ.
“I have every expectation that when all the facts are in, Patrick will be cleared of these charges.”
Despite the allegations of assaulting a teenage girl, Barstool Sports head Dave Portnoy said earlier this week he has no plans of firing Beverley at this time.
