Chelsea Plot Revenge On Liverpool For Ngumoha Deal As They Eye "Best" Young Winger In The Country

Chelsea are keen on securing the services of Liverpool winger Joshua Abe, according to reports.

The Daily Mail claim that the Blues are battling Arsenal for the 15-year-old, who has yet to sign a professional contract with the Premier League champions.

X account, the Secret Scout, which usually has insider knowledge about youth transfers, has recently described Abe as the “best winger in the country at his age”.

It is, therefore, not a surprise that Chelsea are among those vying to secure the teenager’s signature.

He went on to make his first-team debut for the Reds against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup at the start of this year before famously scoring his first senior career goal versus Newcastle earlier this season. The last-minute strike sealed the three points for his team at St James’ Park.

It is believed that Chelsea were unhappy with how Ngumoha’s departure came about, so there would be a modicum of revenge if they do manage to win the race for Abe over the next few months.

What do Chelsea fans need to know about Abe?

The youngster favours the right wing, having played every game for Liverpool’s Under 18s on that flank this campaign. He has racked up 2 goals and 2 assists in 5 appearances.

Abe has also been called up by England at Under-15 and Under-16 level. In his first 3 appearances for the Under-16s, he scored 3 times and provided 1 assist.

Earlier this month, the forward played in friendlies against Turkey and Portugal. He was on the losing side in both games, having only been used as a substitute in the first fixture.
