Nov. 20 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Browns and defensive end Alex Wright agreed to a three-year, $33 million contract extension, agent Drew Rosenhaus announced Thursday.
Wright's pact includes $21 million guaranteed. The third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, who was set to become a free agent this off-season, is now under contract through 2028.
Wright totaled 24 combined tackles, nine tackles for a loss, three sacks and a forced fumble through nine appearances this season. He totaled 85 combined tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, seven passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries over the first 46 appearances of his NFL career.
His three sacks this season are the third-most among Browns players, trailing only Myles Garrett (15) and Maliek Collins (four).
The Browns (2-8) will play the Las Vegas Raiders (2-8) at 4:05 p.m. EST Sunday in Las Vegas.
