Travon Walker highlights list of Jaguars in initial injury report vs. Cardinals

The Jacksonville Jaguars got somewhat of an edge when the Arizona Cardinals ruled out sophomore wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. for their Week 12 bout. However, they could be equally shorthanded, if not more than their NFC West counterpart.

For starters, Travon Walker left the 35-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers with a knee injury. He was one of many prominent Jaguars players who popped up in the initial injury report for the Cardinals game.

The Jaguars listed Brian Thomas Jr. as limited, and Travon Walker didn't practice

Travon Walker didn't practice Wednesday. Linebacker Yasir Abdullah was also absent. That's just the beginning of the list, though, as several players got the limited designation.

Running back Bhayshlu Tuten (ankle), running back Travis Etienne Jr. (ankle), tight end Hunter Long (hip/knee), tight end Brenton Strange (hip), offensive lineman Anton Harrison (knee/ankle), right tackle Patrick Mekari (knee), offensive lineman Wyatt Milum (knee), linebacker Dennis Gardeck (chest), Jarrian Jones (quad), Jourdan Lewis (neck), Greg Newsome (ankle), safety Andrew Wingard (back), and defensive tackle Arik Armstead (illness) were all listed as limited.

It's worth noting that Mekari and Gardeck popped up on last week's injury report but still suited up. On the other hand, Harrison, Lewis, and Long are back at practice, but there's no guarantee they'll be ready to go against the Cardinals.

Thomas has missed the past two games with a sprained ankle and was a game-time decision against the Chargers. He ended up missing the bout, but barring a setback, there's a chance the former LSU Tiger returns in Week 12.

On a related note, Strange remains on Injured Reserve even though he had his 21-day window to practice open. That said, the Jags freed up a roster spot when they released safety Kahled Hailassie and could give it to Strange.

The Jaguars could get Brian Thomas Jr. back but be without Travon Walker

It's hard to tell just how serious Travon Walker's injury is. If he isn't good to go against Arizona, the Jaguars could try to replace him with the pass rush duo of Danny Striggow and B.J. Green II. The undrafted rookie saw an uptick in playing time in the Chargers game and logged a combined four total pressures. They could get an even bigger workload in Week 11 if Walker isn't good to go.

On the other hand, Jacksonville has to rush Anton Harrison. Cole Van Lanen filled in for him against the Chargers and fared well. Similarly, veteran safety Juan Thornhill could make his debut with the Jags after landing in the practice squad if Andrew Wingard isn't good to go.

The one area for concern could turn out to be cornerback. With Jarrian Jones, Jourdan Lewis, and Greg Newsome nursing injuries, Montaric Brown and Christian Braswell are the only healthy cornerbacks the Jaguars have. Then again, they still a few days before the Cardinals game, so there's a chance Jones, Lewis, or Newsome will be available.

In the end, the Jaguars showed in Week 11 that they can win (and dominate) even if they're missing a few key players. They'll need to do the same against the Cardinals regardless of who's healthy or not.
