The 8-2 Philadelphia Eagles keep winning, but it hasn’t been pretty over the last few weeks.
The Eagles relied heavily on their defense in each of their last two games, holding the Green Bay Packers to seven points in Week 10 and the Detroit Lions to nine points in Week 11.
Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia offense have been less than impressive, failing to record more than 16 points or 300 total yards in each of their previous two wins.
This lack of offensive production has resulted in reports of locker-room frustration directed toward Hurts, most notably from star wide receiver A.J. Brown.
Hurts was asked about this reported frustration during his media availability on Wednesday.
The reigning Super Bowl MVP said this frustration "is kind of the nature of the position."
"I'm not surprised by anything," Hurts continued, via The Athletic, "I never run away from holding myself accountable, and I think that's exactly what I've taken the approach of doing."
Hurts has been held under 200 passing yards in six games this season, but the Eagles claimed victory in each of those contests. The 27-year-old quarterback threw for 280 yards and 283 yards in each of Philadelphia’s two losses, respectively.
"I take great pride in what we do on offense. I take great pride in how we go out there and play as a team and what our flow is," Hurts added. "I think we've got work to do, and that obviously starts with me. That's always my approach. That's always me looking internally first in everything that we do and then, in due time, rising above.
"Ultimately, it's about how you navigate what's in front of you and how you respond to these things."
Hurts and the Eagles will look to get their offense clicking in Sunday’s Week 12 matchup against the division-rival Cowboys. Dallas has one of the worst defensive units in the NFL, allowing 381.3 yards and 29.3 points per game.
