Kim Kardashian isn’t ready to get into the grime details of the O.J. Simpson trial with her kids.
The 45-year-old reality star shared a special moment with her 7-year-old daughter, Chicago West, on the latest episode of The Kardashians, which debuted on Thursday, Nov. 20, when she won an auction for a Bible from her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr.
The Bible was gifted by Robert to his friend, O.J. Simpson, amid his 1994 murder trial while Robert served as the former athlete's defense attorney.
“I thought it was a Bible that my dad bought O.J. and wrote in it,” Kim explained during the episode, holding up the brown book. “It’s actually my dad’s Bible with his name inscribed in it. I didn’t know that.”

Kim explained the Bible's significance to Chicago, who happened to be with her when she received the package. “My daddy gave this book to his best friend to give him some motivation from Jesus,” she told her daughter.
“What is motivation?” Chicago asked her mom, before Kim explained, “Motivation is when you help to inspire someone to do positive things.”
In a confessional interview, Kim said that she knew Chicago wasn’t quite able to “really understand” the scope of what the Bible meant to her. “Chicago’s obviously so little and she doesn’t really understand what this means or really what this even is,” the mother of four shared. “But I still wanted to share this moment with her.”

In an awkward moment as Kim was flipping through the Bible, she said, “This is not my dad’s writing. So it must be O.J.’s. He went to jail. It’s a long story, I’ll tell you when you’re older.”
The Bible was signed by Kim's father on June 18, 1994, the day after Simpson was arrested and charged with murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.
O.J. was acquitted of the stabbing deaths of 35-year-old Nicole and 25-year-old Goldman in 1995. However, the Brown and Goldman families took the former athlete to civil court the following year. They were awarded more than $33 million in the wrongful death suit.
Robert died in September 2003 at the age of 59 after an esophageal cancer diagnosis. O.J. died in April 2024 from prostate cancer. He was 76.
During the episode, Kim revealed that after initially offering $15,000 to Simpson’s estate to bypass the auction, her offer was leaked to the press, driving up interest in the auction.
It eventually sold for $65,800 — or $80,276 with its buyer's premium — with the winning bid going to Kim, who was bidding under an alias. She purchased the Bible, later gifting it to her sister, Khloé Kardashian, on Easter.
“I don’t have many things of my dad’s. When my dad died, things happened and we didn’t get a lot of his stuff. Just seeing his name in his handwriting is sentimental to me,” Kim said.
