Liverpool host Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday afternoon following the November international break.

The clash kicks off a hectic schedule for Arne Slot’s side, who face seven games in just 21 days across two competitions.

The Reds currently sit eighth in the Premier League, having won only once in their last five league matches.

Liverpool appeared to halt their slide with a victory over Aston Villa, followed by a morale-boosting 1-0 win against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

However, their confidence took a hit with a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City.

A win against struggling Forest would be vital for the champions, who are now eight points behind league leaders Arsenal.

Alisson Becker has returned to training after a seven-week absence.

The Brazilian was sidelined following a Champions League defeat to Galatasaray in September, with Giorgi Mamardashvili deputising in his place.

Slot has indicated that he “expects” Alisson to be fit for the Forest encounter.

Jeremie Frimpong, meanwhile, remains out after picking up an injury in Liverpool’s Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Netherlands international has endured an injury-hit start to his Liverpool career and is unlikely to feature, although Slot has suggested he is nearing a return.

Summer signing Giovanni Leoni is ruled out for the season with an ACL injury.

For Nottingham Forest, manager Sean Dyche has also had to cope with several absentees.

Ola Aina is sidelined until the new year with a thigh problem, while Douglas Luiz is also missing in midfield.

However, the visitors could welcome four players back at Anfield, including striker Chris Wood, who has been a key absence up front.

Dilane Bakwa, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Callum Hudson-Odoi could also return to the squad.
