With his performance last week against the Giants, Green Bay Packers safety Evan Williams earned a spot on Madden 26’s latest Team of the Week (overall score 87). In addition to racking up nine tackles, he intercepted Jameis Winston in the end zone to seal the game with the Giants knocking on the door. For Williams, the game and subsequent recognition were just highlights in an impressive sophomore season.
Williams has supplied strong encore after establishing high potential as rookie
Through Week 11, Williams has graded out as one of the top safeties in the game. Pro Football Focus gives him a 71.6 overall mark that rank 21st/93 at the position. By comparison, 2024 All-Pro first teamer Xavier McKinney ranks 9th with a grade of 76.9. In a similar number of snaps, Williams isn’t all that far off. His interception last week matched McKinney with two for the season.

That’s not to say that Williams doesn’t have things to work on. His seven missed tackles puts him 59th/93. McKinney, meanwhile, has missed only two (3rd fewest). Opposing quarterbacks have a 96.9 passer rating when targeting Williams, which also puts him in the bottom half of qualified safeties. His 15 stops, however, are 14th-most, and overall he has been a major upgrade over Bullard.
