Cowboys' newest addition presents nightmare for banged-up Eagles offensive line

It didn't take long for newly acquired Cowboys All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to make his presence felt, as the former Jet All-Pro teamed with fellow recent trade acquisition Kenny Clark to punish Las Vegas quarterback Geno Smith just six minutes into the Cowboys' 33-16 win over the Raiders in Week 11 action.

In a dazzling debut for #92 - one spent punishing Las Vegas early and often - Williams would go on to notch 1.5 sacks, seven total pressures, six quarterback hits, and a 21.4% pass rush win rate per Pro Football Focus.

The arrival of the three-time Pro Bowler in Dallas - landed from the Jets in exchange for a 2027 first-round pick, a 2026 second-round pick, and Mazi Smith - has provided sudden power to a much-maligned defensive unit. What had once been a source of criticism galore as teams gashed them dating back to last season, the Dallas defensive line - and overall unit - could finally be turning a corner with the Eagles coming to town this Sunday afternoon.

Following the massive Micah Parsons move that saw Dallas acquire fellow defensive tackle Kenny Clark from Green Bay, the Cowboys now boast a formidable inside trio, with Williams, Clark, and the talented Osa Odighizuwa battling inside. And while the relentless edge prowess of Parsons has undoubtedly been missed, the new-look Cowboys front seven could present a formidable test for the Eagles' interior line in Week 12 action.

Eagles' offensive line will have their hands full with Cowboys' defensive line

Williams, Clark, Odighizuwa, and company provide a far stronger defensive interior than what the Eagles have grown accustomed to facing from the Cowboys in recent showdowns. With the status of center Cam Jurgens (concussion protocol) up in the air for the Cowboys game, guards Landon Dickerson and Tyler Steen - and potentially Brett Toth at center - will have a formidable test at hand to keep the pocket clean and running lanes open for the visiting Eagles.

In addition to Williams and Clark inside, the revamped Dallas defense also includes middle linebacker Logan Wilson (acquired from the Cincinnati Bengals), while also welcoming uber-athletic linebacker DeMarvion Overshown back from injury this past week. That's four key additions to a front seven that now looks far more respectable against the run, and more versatile in its quest to hunt opposing quarterbacks down.

A mere 27 total rushing yards surrendered to the Raiders after allowing seven 100-yard+ rushing efforts this season suggests this Dallas defense may not suffer a similar fate to what it did in week one versus the Eagles.

In the season opener against the Cowboys, Philadelphia amassed 158 total rushing yards, but this Dallas defense suddenly has a different feel to it. With several new faces lining up across from them, it will once again start up front, as the Eagles' offensive line looks to set the tone in the trenches in Big D.
