It took a few days, but Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb owned up to the crime he and fellow wide receiver George Pickens had to serve the time for during Monday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
When the Cowboys’ offense took the field for its first drive, it did so notably without Lamb and Pickens. On a drive that quickly went three-and-out, the duo never touched the field.
A Cowboys team official stated that it was a “coach’s decision” to leave them out of the starting lineup after they “missed a couple of things,” and head coach Brian Schottenheimer echoed that statement in his postgame press conference. Lamb declined to comment after the game, and Pickens said that it was something he’s keeping between them and Schottenheimer.
On Thursday, Lamb cleared up a social media rumor that had begun circulating about him being spotted throwing up in the parking lot of Red Rock Resort casino at 7:30 a.m.
“I was a little late after [the 10 p.m.] curfew, but we came back,” Lamb said. “The Red Rock, that’s where we ate at. I’ll clear that up, the speculation. No, I was not downstairs throwing up at 7:30 a.m., I’ll kill that.”
Lamb added that he was asleep in the team hotel, the Durango, at that time. He jokingly added that he can hold his liquor, too, insinuating that it was disrespectful to think he was throwing up after a night out.
After missing the first drive, the duo combined for 14 receptions for 210 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-16 win over the Raiders. It was the most yards the duo has had in six games together this season. Pickens hauled in nine receptions for 144 yards and a score, while Lamb added five receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown of his own.
