Red Sox Fans Will Love What Tarik Skubal Just Said About Garrett Crochet

Boston Red Sox fans couldn’t help but love Tarik Skubal’s appearance on Foul Territory on Thursday, and that’s because Skubal wasn’t shy about praising Garrett Crochet. Skubal said that if he could add any of Crochet’s pitches to his own arsenal, it would be Crochet’s 84-86 MPH sweeper/slider. “You can’t even put a lefty (hitter) in the lineup against Crochet, you really can’t,” Skubal added, much to Red Sox fans’ delight. Skubal also said that his and Crochet’s fastballs are pretty similar, and that he loves Crochet’s changeup, even though it’s not used a ton (because of how nasty the sweeper is). This is also something Red Sox fans are sure to appreciate; so would anyone who admires when a player is loyal to their team’s fan base. Skubal’s name has been thrown around in trade buzz constantly this offseason, mostly due to reports that the Tigers aren’t going to be able to pay him the monstrous amount he deserves. The Red Sox have been floated as a long shot landing spot by some. But would it really be fair, having the AL’s top two starters in the same rotation? Story continues below advertisement
