Super Bowl champ Jay Alford, NY Giants hand out Thanksgiving meals in Newark

Some special volunteers gave out Thanksgiving meals at a high school in Newark on Thursday.

Super Bowl 42 champion Jay Alford and volunteers from the New York Giants handed out Thanksgiving meals to families at John F. Kennedy High School. Some of the items given out included a turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes.

Alford is a New Jersey native from the City of Orange. He says that giving back to his community is a blessing.

“I grew up in spaces where, you know, I was unfortunate in some spaces. So, to have an event like this where I can come back and contribute is great. I mean, it's great. It's always a great feeling,” Alford says.

John F. Kennedy is a special needs high school that serves students from ninth grade all the way up to age 21.
