Rapoport: 'All signs pointing to' Bengals' Joe Burrow returning in Week 12 vs. Patriots

Currently sitting in third place with a record of 3-7, the Cincinnati Bengals need any help they can get to stay in the playoff hunt this season. The start to the preparation for Week 12 started out terribly after hearing that Ja'Marr Chase is suspended for the matchup against the New England Patriots.

However, there's also a mix of good news. Bengals franchise quarterback Joe Burrow is nearing his return after getting surgery on his toe and missing the last eight games.

With a record of 1-7 in that span, Cincinnati could be getting Burrow back sooner rather than later. NFL insider Ian Rapoport provided an update on the situation.

Rapoport: There's a large possibility that Joe Burrow returns for Week 12 vs. Patriots

Joe Burrow has been getting first-team reps as a full participant in practice this week. This is a sign that head coach Zac Taylor is anticipating that his franchise quarterback is in line to return in Week 12.

Ian Rapoport gave his reaction to what's happening, saying, "All signs are pointing to Joe Burrow being the starting quarterback on Sunday. I'm not saying it is happening, but I'm saying if you put all the pieces together, this is very possible."

The quarterback who has been starting for the Bengals in recent weeks, Joe Flacco, has been a limited participant in practice while dealing with a right shoulder injury. It will be interesting to see more updates on the story. As of now, Burrow is in line to make an early return.
