Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders will make his first start of his NFL career in Week 12 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sanders comes into the starting role in place of Dillon Gabriel, who is still in concussion protocol after leaving Cleveland’s Week 11 loss against the Baltimore Ravens at halftime. Sanders started the second half of that game, his first action of the regular season, but completed just four of 16 pass attempts for 47 yards and an interception.

The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion, Sanders has garnered as much attention as any player in the NFL since being selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, well below his projected first-round grade.

To start off, the Browns are priced as 3.5-point underdogs against the Raiders, with the over-under point total set at just 35.5 total points.

Sanders’ over-under passing yards total is set at 159.5, a relatively low line, even for a rookie making his first NFL start. He is -172 to throw at least one passing touchdown.

Sanders’ debut against the Ravens did not give much of a baseline of what his full-game stat line could be, given that he entered the game on a whim against one of the most explosive defenses in the NFL.

What we did see was a mobile quarterback willing to sling the ball downfield, just as he did during his college days at Colorado.

Facing a Las Vegas team that allows 25.3 points per game (ninth most in the NFL), Sanders should have more opportunities to move the ball downfield, even with Raiders Pro Bowl pass rusher Maxx Crosby on the prowl.

The rookie QB also showcased his scrambling ability against Baltimore, rushing three times for 16 yards. In Week 12, Sanders’ over-under rushing line is set at 20.5 yards, while he is +600 to score a rushing touchdown.

We also saw Sanders have a pass intercepted by the Ravens, something he is -223 to do again against the Raiders.

Sanders’ chances of having a huge game come in at much longer odds. He is +261 to record more than 200 passing yards, +322 to throw two or more passing touchdowns.
