Grayson Allen will miss his third game in a row, and Rasheer Fleming will be out with an ankle sprain when the Suns play the Timberwolves Friday.
Allen (right quadriceps contusion) picked up the injury during the second quarter of last Thursday’s win over the Pacers and did not return. He then missed Sunday’s loss vs. Atlanta and Tuesday’s win in Portland.
Suns coach Jordan Ott said at Thursday’s practice Allen was able to participate and is getting closer to a return.
“(He’s able to do) more and more each day,” Ott told reporters. “It’s definitely trending in the right direction. Again, it’s three (games) in four (nights) here, so we’re hopeful he feels good after today and then we’ll asses tomorrow. It’s definitely progressing in a good direction.”
Fleming played a season-high 10 minutes in Tuesday’s win at the Trail Blazers.
The second-round pick has appeared in eight games for the Suns this season and is averaging 5.8 minutes per game.
Jalen Green remains out for the Suns with a right hamstring strain.
Last week, it was announced Green will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks after he reaggravated his hamstring in a win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 8.
Green strained the same hamstring during training camp and then later . He ended up missing the Suns’ first eight games of the season before returning to play in two games against the Clippers.
For the Timberwolves, Jaden McDaniels (left wrist sprain) and Joe Ingles (left groin soreness) are questionable. Terrence Shannon Jr. (left foot bruise) is out.
McDaniels missed his first game in almost two years Wednesday against the Washington Wizards. He picked up the injury during the third quarter of Minnesota’s win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday.
Ingles has been dealing with the groin strain since training camp but has appeared in five games this season.
Shannon has missed the past eight games with a bone bruise on his left foot.
