Will Steph Curry play against the Trail Blazers? Warriors receive encouraging news

The Golden State Warriors weren’t exactly riding high heading into Friday night. A two-game skid had dropped them to 9–8 and pushed them down to the West’s 8th seed.

Wednesday’s loss to the Miami Heat stung a little extra, mainly because the roster looked thin without several key contributors. The biggest absence was Steph Curry.

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, Curry is set to rejoin the lineup. He was not included on Thursday’s injury report, clearing him to return on Friday.

Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and Buddy Hield are probable vs Blazers tomorrow night. Steph Curry is cleared for return. Jonathan Kuminga remains out with knee tendinitis.

That’s welcome news for a team opening a five-game homestand and desperately needing some momentum. At 37, Steph Curry isn’t slowing down much as he cruises through his 17th season.

Through 13 games, he’s been posting 27.9 points, 3.6 boards, and 4.1 assists while shooting 46.4% from the field and 38.9% from beyond the arc. Not bad for someone supposedly past his prime.

Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, who both missed Wednesday’s game in Miami alongside Steph Curry, are expected to suit up again. Butler’s been dealing with a low back strain while Green was recovering from an illness.

Al Horford is no longer on the injury report after sitting out the second half of a back-to-back. Buddy Hield is listed as probable for Friday’s matchup with Portland as he works through an illness. Jonathan Kuminga will miss his fifth straight game because of bilateral knee tendinitis.
