San Antonio landing De'Aaron Fox was a really good move for this team. Getting him without trading away any significant assets made the acquisition tremendous. They put an established all-star caliber talent next to Stephon Castle and Victor Wembanyama. It was bound to be great if you knew what to expect. But the Spurs just rattled off three straight wins without Vic and Steph, and it's largely due to Fox's greatness.
Kings fans, on the other hand, have had nothing to be excited about. They gaze upon their ex-franchise point guard racking up wins similarly to how Squidward watched SpongeBob and Patrick have the time of their lives with jealousy in that hilarious meme. You can't help but feel bad for them. At this rate, Sacramento would be better off blowing it up.

At the same time, we're grateful to their organization for being so easy to work with.
Fox is already paying huge dividends for the Spurs
Remember, Swipa only played for about a month in a silver and black uniform after he was traded right before last season's deadline. He and the team decided that getting surgery sooner would be better, so he could have as much time to prepare for the new season as possible. He was still delayed for this campaign, but he's seven games in now, and he showed up just in time.
We were told by naysayers that Fox was not a winning player, but that's already proving not to be the case. A highly skilled athlete can be held back from showing what he's capable of in a poorly run environment, and that's what they have over there in the Kings organization. It's not a coincidence that they continue to struggle to get talent, develop players, or make reasonable trades.
Narrator: They got the De'Aaron Fox trade horribly wrong. https://t.co/7HHhckY1ps

We're talking about a franchise that drafted Marvin Bagley III over Trae Young, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Luka Doncic. They had Tyrese Haliburton on their roster next to Fox. The two could have been one of the most unstoppable backcourts in the league, but they decided to trade Hali for an undersized center because they thought they would "fit" better.
Don't get me wrong, Domantas Sabonis is a fine player. But when has a slightly height-challenged big man ever been the missing ingredient to a championship for a growing roster? Just look at how D. Fox and Stephon Castle have been playing together already and imagine Tyrese in Steph's shoes. They could have made magic together had the front office given them time.
Bad organizations make bad choices unprompted. They can't help themselves. Spurs fans are extremely fortunate not to be in the same boat. Not only do we not have to worry about making silly decisions, but we also get to directly benefit from the poor choices that others make. You have to love it.
