Kerkez praised for 'strong' first-half display for Liverpool against Arsenal
Liverpool have lost four out of their last five Premier League matches and last time’s defeat to Manchester City has pushed them to eighth in the standings, so they are under serious pressure to turn a corner soon.
Arne Slot’s men are up against Nottingham Forest tomorrow at 15:00 local time at Anfield on matchday 12, and with the Premier League’s festive set of fixtures also fast approaching, the team will look to build good momentum versus a relegation battler.
Here is how Liverpool might line-up for the game.
Goalkeeper – Alisson Becker is in line to make his first appearance for Liverpool in roughly two months, and might potentially come into the team ahead of Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Defenders – Liverpool’s lack of depth in defence has meant that their back four is largely predictable, so Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk might play at centre back. Conor Bradley may also feature at right back and the team’s only change in the defensive department might see Andy Robertson make way for Milos Kerkez.
Gakpo to play on the left flank
Midfielders – Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch are expected to be in the team’s double pivot tomorrow, whereas Dominik Szoboszlai could be preferred at number 10 ahead of Florian Wirtz. Mohamed Salah might be employed at right wing, whereas Cody Gakpo, one of Liverpool’s most consistent attackers this season, could come in on the left flank.
Forward – Hugo Ekitike’s form is likely to see him picked over Alexander Isak in spite of the Swede’s return to fitness.
Here is a look at Liverpool’s potential team on paper.
