Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is hopeful of a treble boost ahead of the clash against Manchester City.
The head coach is eager to welcome back £105m worth of talent with Tino Livramento, Anthony Gordon and Nick Pope back from injuries. Gordon and Livramento, crucially, are close to a return while Pope is back from concussion.
Howe could also start with Lewis Hall against City and the team could well have a fresh look compared to the defeat at Brentford two weeks ago.
Howe, [speaking at his Press conference](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/eddie-howe-live-newcastle-united-32913400), said: "Anthony Gordon is very close. He's worked well during the break and he's touch and go for the game. We'll make a very late decision.
"Nick Pope has trained and there's no problems there."
And speaking on Livramento, Howe said: "He's very close. He's trained in the international break which is great to see. He's such an important player for us and it's great to have him back training with the group. He's done a lot of work. He's been very, very good professionally with how he's dealt with the injury and the work he's done with the physios so I'd say he's in good shape."
Howe confirmed that both Sandro Tonali and Joelinton are available to face City after being deemed doubtful over the past fortnight. Joelinton went off with a scrape against Brentford while Tonali was pulled out of the Italy squad for the World Cup clash with Norway.
The Magpies are still fighting on four fronts but know that defeat against Man City could plunge them into the relegation zone if other results go against them. Howe stated he has not looked for backing from the powers that be and simply focused on working on the training field.
Howe said: "I have not seeked assurances. It is about working for me.
"It is showing we have the expertise to guide us forward."
