Exclusive: What AZ Alkmaar are saying about selling Troy Parrott to Everton in January

Everton are just one of the Premier League clubs who are looking at Troy Parrott as a potential option for the January transfer market.

The Ireland international has burst to stardom over the recent international break following his heroics for the Republic of Ireland.

Parrott was able to find the back of the net five times in just two games, including that staggering hat-trick to clinch Ireland a spot in the World Cup play-offs.

Last week, Everton News revealed that Everton had their scouts watching Parrott during Ireland’s game against Portugal.

David Moyes is keen to bring in another striker over the January transfer window as the Toffees endure their struggles in finding the back of the net.

With Everton keen on the Ireland hero, Parrott, transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey has shared AZ Alkmaar’s stance to Everton News over a potential January deal.

AZ Alkmaar’s stance on selling Troy Parrott to Everton in January

Former Everton midfielder Kevin Kilbane expected Parrott to receive a lot of offers from the Premier League during the January window.

His form for both club and country is becoming undeniable, with the likes of Everton in need of a reliable striker.

Speaking to Everton News, Bailey has now expanded on the information provided on the 23-year-old last week following Ireland’s win over Portugal.

Is Troy Parrott the perfect January signing for Everton?

“Troy Parrott is a fascinating option, his stock and value have never been higher. AZ would consider a January sale, but it won’t be a bargain,” Bailey told Everton News.

“I understand Everton have done their checks on him, he is very much on their shortlist for January.”

Seamus Coleman has been so impressed with Parrott already having played with him at international level for the Republic of Ireland.

Having landed Thierno Barry over the summer, Moyes was keen to add another striker, but was forced to settle for just the young Frenchman.

Competition is going to be fierce for the Toffees if they are going to make a move for Parrott, and clearly, the Dutch outfit will not be looking to lose their talisman for cheap.

Everton will need to pay up for Troy Parrott in January

Not only are Everton keen on landing one of Europe’s most in-form strikers, but they are also trying to do so midway through a season.

Parrott has admitted he is happy at AZ Alkmaar, but the prospect of returning to the Premier League may prove incredibly tempting following his time with Tottenham Hotspur.

AZ currently sit third in the Eredivisie, with a seven-point gap to league leaders PSV Eindhoven.

With Champions League football on the radar, it is going to prove a huge ask for any club to prise Parrott away from AZ at the midpoint of the season.

Everton fans have already shared their approval for signing Parrott, but it is going to be no easy task for the likes of Angus Kinnear to pull this deal off.
